Appliance removalon Maui.
Fridges, stoves, washers and dryers, carried out from wherever they sit. Same day when you need it.
How do I get rid of an old appliance on Maui?
The Maui landfill doesn't take appliances, so an old fridge, stove or washer goes to the metal recycler in Puʻunēnē, or it waits on the county's $25 pickup, which can take up to six weeks to schedule. We're the fast way. Text a photo to (808) 359-8130, and we carry it out and haul it away, usually for $300 to $500, the same day when you need it.
Appliance removal anywhere on Maui, from Lahaina to Kīhei and Upcountry.
$300 to $500.
That's the usual range for a single fridge or stove. Got two or three going? Send a photo and we'll price them together. Free estimate, confirmed before we lift it.
Getting rid of an appliance.
Three ways to do it. We're the one that carries it out.
Your three options, and how long each one takes
Wait for the county. Maui County picks up appliances from its refuse customers for $25 each, by application, and its form says scheduling can take up to six weeks. It doesn't cover condos, apartment complexes or gated communities. Our bulky item pickup guide has the steps and the county's number.
Drive it yourself. The landfill won't take it. Appliances go to Hammerhead Metals Recycling in Puʻunēnē, free for residents on weekdays, per Maui County's recycling page. You need a truck, a strap and someone for the other end of the fridge.
Have us grab it. We carry it out, load it and take it to the recycler ourselves. Same day when you need it, which matters when the new fridge lands Thursday.
Honestly? If the dead fridge lives in the carport and nobody minds, the county's $25 is the cheap way, and we'd take it. Call us when it can't wait.
How the free estimate works
Text us a photo. Send a picture of the pile to (808) 359-8130 and we'll come back with a price, fast. Don't overthink the photo. A blurry shot of the carport tells us plenty.
Big job, or hard to photograph? We'll swing by, take a look and give you an estimate on the spot. That visit is free, and there's no pressure to book on the day.
The price is confirmed before we load a thing. If it turns out bigger than the photo showed (it happens, garages are deep), you hear the new number first, not on the invoice.
Fridges, stoves, washers and the rest
Refrigerators, freezers, stoves, dishwashers, washers, dryers and A/C units. One appliance or the whole kitchen. Old TVs and electronics can ride along on the same trip.
Two things help before we get there. Unplug it, and empty it. A dead fridge with a week of groceries inside is a smell with opinions.
Gas stove, or a washer still hooked to the water? Tell us when you text, so we know before we roll up. More than appliances going? See furniture removal, or junk removal for the whole pile.
Where your old fridge actually goes
Not the landfill. The Central Maui Landfill bans appliances and air conditioners at the gate, so we take them to the metal recycler in Puʻunēnē instead. A mixed load gets sorted on the way. The fridge goes to the recycler and the couch goes to the landfill, and you don't make either stop.
What it costs
| The job | What it usually costs |
|---|---|
| A single item we haul (a fridge, a couch, a mattress) | $300 to $500 |
| A full cleanout where we load everything | $1,500 to $2,500 |
| A roll-off bin you fill yourself | $950, plus the landfill's tonnage at cost |
Every price is confirmed on site before we start. Free estimate from a photo, or we come out and look.
Who shows up
Landen McLaughlin, Lahaina born and raised, plus a small local crew. We started Hawaii Hauling in 2024 with a truck, a trailer and our own roll-off bins, and that's still what we run. When you call, you get one of us, not a call center, and the person you talk to is the person who shows up.
The boring paperwork, because it matters: we're registered with the federal motor carrier office as USDOT 4272899, and the record is clean. No inspections and no crashes in the last two years.
