How do I get rid of an old TV on Maui?

The Maui landfill doesn't take TVs or other electronics, and the county trash pickup won't take them either. You can drop a TV, a computer, a monitor or a printer at E-Cycling Maui in Puʻunēnē for free, but only on Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings. Or text a photo to (808) 359-8130, and we carry it out and haul it away, usually for $300 to $500, the same day when you need it.

Where old electronics go.

The county's free drop-off takes a Tuesday afternoon. Our way takes a text.

Where an old TV can go, and when it's open

Maui County's trash pickup bans stereos, computers and televisions, per the county's collection rules, and the Central Maui Landfill turns away electronic waste. A TV at the curb just sits there until someone deals with it, and that someone is usually you. So here's where it can go.

Drop it off yourself. E-Cycling Maui, at 301 Hansen Road at Pulehu Road in Puʻunēnē, takes TVs, computers, monitors and printers for free from residents. It's open Tuesdays from 1 to 5pm and Saturdays from 9am to 1pm, per Maui County's recycling page. Call (808) 280-6460 before you load the car.

Wait for a Go Green day. West Maui residents can bring TVs and computers to the free Go Green collection days in Lahaina, by appointment, one date per household, from 8am to noon on the days the county posts. Call Mālama Maui Nui at (808) 877-2524 for the next date. Our Maui recycling guide has every drop-off by item.

Have us grab it. We carry it out, load it and haul it away. Same day when you need it, and no planning your week around a Tuesday afternoon.

How the free estimate works

Text us a photo. Send a picture of the pile to (808) 359-8130 and we'll come back with a price, fast. Don't overthink the photo. A blurry shot of the carport tells us plenty.

Big job, or hard to photograph? We'll swing by, take a look and give you an estimate on the spot. That visit is free, and there's no pressure to book on the day.

The price is confirmed before we load a thing. If it turns out bigger than the photo showed (it happens, garages are deep), you hear the new number first, not on the invoice.

TVs, computers, monitors and printers

The 60-inch flat screen from the last move. The old tube TV that took two people to carry in and that nobody wants to carry out. Desktop towers, monitors, laptops and the printer that jams if you look at it. One piece or a whole room of it.

Still mounted on the wall? Say so when you text, and we'll tell you whether it needs to come down before we get there. Same for a TV upstairs or behind a stack of boxes.

Got a dead fridge going too? See appliance removal. Clearing out more than the electronics? That's junk removal, and it all goes on the same trip.

Every price is confirmed on site before we start. Free estimate from a photo, or we come out and look.

Who shows up

Landen McLaughlin, Lahaina born and raised, plus a small local crew. We started Hawaii Hauling in 2024 with a truck, a trailer and our own roll-off bins, and that's still what we run. When you call, you get one of us, not a call center, and the person you talk to is the person who shows up.

The boring paperwork, because it matters: we're registered with the federal motor carrier office as USDOT 4272899, and the record is clean. No inspections and no crashes in the last two years.
