How does junk removal on Maui work?

Text a photo of the pile to (808) 359-8130 or call and we'll give you a price. For bigger jobs we come out and give you a free estimate in person. We can come the same day when you need it, confirm the price before we load anything, then do all the lifting and the dump run ourselves. Single items usually run $300 to $500. Full cleanouts run $1,500 to $2,500.

From $300 a load.
Same day.

Single items usually $300 to $500. A full cleanout where we load everything usually lands between $1,500 and $2,500. Free estimate from a photo, or we come out and look.

How it actually goes.

Read this if you like. Most people just text the photo.

How the free estimate works

Text us a photo. Send a picture of the pile to (808) 359-8130 and we'll come back with a price, fast. Don't overthink the photo. A blurry shot of the carport tells us plenty.

Big job, or hard to photograph? We'll swing by, take a look and give you an estimate on the spot. That visit is free, and there's no pressure to book on the day.

The price is confirmed before we load a thing. If it turns out bigger than the photo showed (it happens, garages are deep), you hear the new number first, not on the invoice.

What a day with us looks like

We roll up when we said we would. You point at what's going: the couch on the lanai, the fridge in the carport, the twelve boxes in the back bedroom that moved here with you and never got opened. We load it from wherever it sits. No dragging things to the curb the night before.

A full load is usually three to four hours of loading, then we make the run to the landfill in Puʻunēnē, sort the metal and green waste out on the way, and you get the scale receipt with your invoice. By the time you're back from lunch it's a driveway again.

Same day when you need it. Tenants arriving tomorrow, listing photos on Thursday, a garage you want back by the weekend: that's exactly the call we're built for.

What we take

Couches, mattresses, fridges, washers, old TVs, patio sets, the treadmill that became a coat rack, lumber, tires, green waste, the pile in the carport you've stopped seeing. One item or an entire property. If it fits in the truck, it's gone.

Hazardous chemicals, wet paint, propane tanks and car batteries are banned at Maui's landfills, so they can't go in the load. Fridges and A/C units are fine: we take them to the metal recycler in Puʻunēnē. Not sure about something? Call and ask. We'd rather answer a weird question than leave it in your garage.

What junk removal costs on Maui
The jobWhat it usually costs
A single item we haul (a fridge, a couch, a mattress)$300 to $500
A full cleanout where we load everything$1,500 to $2,500
A roll-off bin you fill yourself$950, plus the landfill's tonnage at cost

Every price is confirmed on site before we start. Free estimate from a photo, or we come out and look.

Small jobs, big jobs, in-between jobs

One thing. A fridge, a couch, an old mattress. Junk pick up for single items goes straight in the truck and usually runs $300 to $500. See furniture removal and mattress removal.

A whole place. Houses before a sale, rentals between tenants, an estate that has to be empty by a date. That's an estate or property cleanout, and most of them are done in a day.

Just the drive. Already piled up and you'd haul it yourself if you had the truck and the morning? We do dump runs too. And if you'd rather load it yourself over a weekend, a roll-off bin in the driveway is the cheaper play.

Why people call us instead of the big guys

We're small. That's the honest version, and it's also the pitch. When you call, you get us. When we say a time, we're the ones who have to be there. And when it's last minute, the "oh no, they're coming Saturday" kind of last minute, a small local crew is the one that can say yes.

Nobody's going to pretend a hauling company is exciting. We just show up, do the heavy stuff, and leave you with the space back. More about us.

Who shows up

Landen McLaughlin, Lahaina born and raised, plus a small local crew. We started Hawaii Hauling in 2024 with a truck, a trailer and our own roll-off bins, and that's still what we run. When you call, you get one of us, not a call center, and the person you talk to is the person who shows up.

The boring paperwork, because it matters: we're registered with the federal motor carrier office as USDOT 4272899, and the record is clean. No inspections and no crashes in the last two years.

A job we've done

A six-hour cleanout, about $2,800, booked through our first website. We cleared the place in a day. A few months later the customer's cousin called us for a move-out cleanout of their own. That's most of our work in one story: one job, then whoever they told.

How much does junk removal cost on Maui?

A single item like a fridge or a couch usually runs $300 to $500. A full cleanout where we load everything usually lands between $1,500 and $2,500. Text a photo for a free estimate, and we confirm the price on site before we load anything.

Can you come today?

Same day, when you need it. Call and we'll tell you straight away when we can be there.

Do I have to carry anything out?

No. We do all the lifting and loading from wherever the stuff is, inside or out.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. Text a photo and we'll price it from that. For bigger jobs we come out, take a look and give you a number on the spot, no charge.

What can't you take?

Hazardous chemicals, wet paint, propane tanks and car batteries are banned at Maui's landfills. Fridges and A/C units are fine, they go to the metal recycler. Not sure? Call and ask.

Does Maui County pick up bulky items?

No. Maui County doesn't run a bulky-item pickup, so couches, mattresses and appliances need a hauler or a trip to the landfill yourself.

Where does it all go?

Rubbish goes to the Central Maui Landfill in Puʻunēnē. Green waste goes to the green waste yard, and metal and appliances go to the recycler.
